EMP4 CCC malfunctions

I finally got around to shooting my new EMP4 CCC. I only ran 150 rounds of PMC Bronze 115 grain FMJ ammo through it, but I experienced 3 different types of malfunctions, multiple times. I used the same magazine, as well.

A few times, the nose of the bullet would nose dive into the feed ramp, not allowing the round to chamber. I also had the slide not lock back on the last round a few times. The last malfunction, was the slide wouldnt always go all of the way back into battery, and I had to bump the rear of the slide, to get it to do so.

I called Springfield, and they recommeded trying a different magazine, and a different type of ammo. I have not had time to do either of these yet.

I was curious to hear from those of you that have had a similar experience. Thanks a lot!

It looks like the length of the bullet would be almost if not more important. I know there are differences. Something to look at.
I suppose that is possible, but I don't think that is the case, in my situation. With the latest failures to go all the way into battery with PMC, the rear of the slide just needed a small tap, for the round to finish chambering, and the slide to close. Are you referring to the length of the projectile, or the entire bullet itself?

I sent my new CCC in for repairs due to failure to feed issues. I couldn't shoot the gun at all. It would FTF every other shot almost. I received an email from Springfield it is on it's way back to me. Here is what they did

RECUT BARREL RAMP, POLISHED BARREL RAMP, ADJUSTED EXTRACTOR, REPLACED EJECTOR PIN AND PINNED EJECTOR THEN SAFETY CHECKED/TESTED

I am hopeful but after reading so many responses from others I will reserve judgement until I can shoot it for a while.

I will let you know how it goes

The whole bullet.

If you check out one of my posts on the third page of this thread, I posted what Springfield did to my gun, the first time it was returned to them. It looks like they performed basically the same work on yours that they did on mine. The second trip back, they throated the barrel a bit. The third time, all they did was run at least a hundred rounds through it, without malfunction.

I really believe that it is just an ammo issue, at this point, as I didn't have any issues with Winchester White Box. I plan on trying the troublesome PMC Bronze 115 grain FMJ ammo in my new 3" EMP, and see how it compares. If I have the same issues, I will contact Springfield and see what they want to do. Hopefully you will have luck with their modifications.

immo- As of now, I will only be running Winchester White Box ammo through this gun. I bought the gun to plink with, not to carry. If the PMC stuff won't run reliably, I just won't mess with it in this gun anymore...

I dropped off my emp champ 40 off at JoJo’s here in CT.. not sending back to SA. He’s the best in CT and said not to worry. They make them tight and that it’s unfortunate they jam. His reliability package will have it running like a hot rod. Made me feel better and he also stated that The EMP is a really good gun. I did take it out back a few times this summer and ran another 500 thru it. When it shoots, it’s a fantastic gun. Hopefully I can give another update in a month or so.

Interested to see how it turns out. I agree that the EMP is a really good gun. I just never thought that it would be finicky about FMJ ammo. I plan on running some of the same troublesome PMC ammo through my 3" EMP, and see if I have the same trouble...

After hearing the great reviews and talking to the owner of JoJo’s last week, I’m pretty confident it’ll run like a Ferrari! He was adamant that I not give up on it. We will see..
