First post on Springfield forum guys..

I have the emp 4" 40 Champion. Purchased in May and right out of the box it jammed. I had some sh!tty reloads from 20 yrs ago and they were set into case to deep. My Glock and Walther fed them with a couple jams. Switched to fmj federal, Winchester, pmc and it (emp) still jammed. Cleaned gun and contacted SA. I will say that they were attentive and sent a shipping label but another lady did tell me to run some more ammo thru it. Off and on this summer I've fed the beast and she has gotten better. About 300 rounds into the emp and will say it is a beast. Accurate, decent trigger etc. It's been quite some time since I've shot a metal weapon and was pleasantly surprised. I'm still watching the ammo I feed it and tracking any hiccups. If I do send it back I would have warranty work done but pay for the trigger to be polished up some. I hope you get good results from them!

I dropped off my emp champ 40 off at JoJo’s here in CT.. not sending back to SA. He’s the best in CT and said not to worry. They make them tight and that it’s unfortunate they jam. His reliability package will have it running like a hot rod. Made me feel better and he also stated that The EMP is a really good gun. I did take it out back a few times this summer and ran another 500 thru it. When it shoots, it’s a fantastic gun. Hopefully I can give another update in a month or so.

Interested to see how it turns out. I agree that the EMP is a really good gun. I just never thought that it would be finicky about FMJ ammo. I plan on running some of the same troublesome PMC ammo through my 3" EMP, and see if I have the same trouble...

After hearing the great reviews and talking to the owner of JoJo’s last week, I’m pretty confident it’ll run like a Ferrari! He was adamant that I not give up on it. We will see..
