Purchased a 4.0C yesterday. Shoots great, it’s dead nuts so I didn’t have to mess with the sights. Slight problem though. I also have a full size echelon and I have found out that the full size magazines used in the compact can be over inserted when reloading from slide lock like your life depended on it, causing the slide to stay locked to the rear until you give the mag a tug. I called Springfield and they said that can happen between full and compact sizes. Well, coming from a Glock 19 and using G17 mags isn’t an issue because they have that ledge on the side of the mag and in the frame of the gun. I’m not that familiar with other brands but is this an issue with other brands as well? It’s be nice to carry the 15 flush mag and the 20 round “stick” from the full size.

Interesting, I found with my Echelon using 17 round factory mags if I have too much enthusiasm when inserting if causes the slide to release and go into battery. Not a big problem since it saves me from having to release the slide. 😎
