Does anyone know if the XDE fits in the Springfield paddle holster for the XDS?

cremaley,

I do not have a XD-e, but I do have a XD-s.
This is conjecture, but it seems that it would depend on the holster.
It looks to me like an average hybrid XD-s holster MIGHT fit a XD-e.

I went to my LGS wearing my XD-s and favorite holster for it. I was going to try to see if a XD-e fit in my holster, but my LGS did not have a XD-e in stock.
Having just looked on SA's site, it looks like a XD-e is a cross between a XD Mod 2 and a XD-s.

Consequently, I'd bet that some XD-s holsters will fit a XD-e, while some will not.

Wish I could be more helpful.

Holsters for SD-s and XD-e

Today, I went back to my LGS in search of an answer to your question. This time, they had both a XD-s and a XD-e in stock!

The store owner and I both compared the 2. We agreed that there are significant differences in the grip and in the hammer/striker areas; yet, the trigger areas and slides were virtually identical.

Consequently, it seems that most holsters that work for either gun would work for both. The obvious exception would be holsters that have a strap that goes over the striker/hammer area.

The key factor would seem to be getting a holster that covers only the slide, frame, and trigger, and many common holster types do that exactly.

The 2 guns I compared were both 45 ACP.

My 9 mm XD Mod 2 fits with only a tiny bit of wiggle room in the holster I use for CC with my 45 ACP XD Mod 2; however, I don't know if a .45 would fit in a 9 mm holster. My guess is that a .45 will not fit in a 9 mm because a Mod 2 .45 is just a tiny bit thicker than a Mod 2 9mm.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for taking the time to make the comparison. Your information is very helpful.
