Ran 1000s of rounds through this and yesterday it started jamming on almost all shell casings. I am not a gunsmith.

Any thoughts on possible problems/solutions would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Kind of hard to say at this point. Could be the ammo, maybe the recoil spring needs replaced or could be something else. Can you give us a few more details on what is happening. Pics would also help.

Was the ammo reloads? Could be a casing issue if that's the case. Could also be a magazine issue. Did the problem happen with multiple mags? Could also still be the recoil spring is worn out or an extractor problem.

You've indicated that 1000's of rounds have been discharged through the weapon. It might be time for a new recoil spring or maybe the extractor needs some tweaking. Take the slide off and remove the recoil spring and barrel. Slip an empty casing up into the chamber so the lip of the casing is held in by the extractor and the primer is centered up on the firing pin hole. Jiggle the slide a little, not too much but a jiggle, and see if the extractor will hold the casing in place. It should hold it. If the casing comes out easily the extractor is too loose and may be losing a grip and not properly holding the round for ejection. You can also try it with a live round and see if it will hold it.

I agree with WVSurveyor. As something you can also do at home or on the range. Get 1 used 9mm casing, get someone to load it in a press, NO power, no primer, BUT a correct projectile you use. Load the mag with ONLY that 1 round, rack the pistol and chamber the round. Now holding the pistol rack the round out and see what happens, only 1 rack. IF the round does NOT extract it's the extractor, because the round will still be in the chamber. If something else happens move on to the next item.

Sounds like you maybe have a issue like I was having about 6 months ago? I have a XDS-45 (Gen 1), it probaby has about 20k rounds through it or better? it's my EDC gun and have been carrying it for about 9 years now, out of the blue about 4-5 months ago it started not extracting the fired shell out of the barrel casing the next round to get jammed up behind or just under the spent round depending if the spent shell was still completely seated in the barred or if it had pulled back about maybe a 1/4 inch.. I also tried diff rounds like Federal or Blazers and my carry ammo, did a deep cleaning and inspection, still the same problem, would jam almost every round, I ended up talking too and sending it back to Springfield over this issue, after the repairs they made they said the Extractor Spring and the Rubble Plunger was replaced and they had ran 2 mags through it
testing before sending it back, I have since ran about 300 round through her and zero issues again..
