Our own administrator's (glock26USMC) police dog "Tyson" has fallen ill, and is now at the veterinarian hospital in critical condition. Please say a prayer for one of our own 4 legged heroes!

Thank you Havasu, I really appreciate the prayers and support

I'll keep you all updated
Tyson did okay through the night, however he is still constantly vomiting. He is going to have a ultrasound, and hopefully that will shed some light as to what is going on.

I'm heading there in a few to visit him, hopefully I know more when I'm there
Doctor just called, ultrasound shows a lot of fluid, and looks like his intestines are inflamed, which makes them think there is a obstruction, surgery is needed to see, due to all the fluid, if there isn't an obstruction then they would have to investigate to see if something is wrong with his intestines.

I have a feeling, his duty days are over
Hopefully they'll figure it out and he'll be back to work soon. Prayers are coming.
They will continue until you are both doing well!
I am praying Tyson will recover and continue working. Keep us posted, Marine.
Tyson is home, he had a mass in His intestines blocking his stomach ...... He has a morphine patch on, for 5 days, and about 15 staples in his stomach. He is resting, but you can tell he is drugged up

Any idea what caused the mass? Was it sent out for biopsy?

it was hair, he ingested it, and could not digest it through his intestines
I just want to know who's hair. Did your last bite suspect get scalped?
i still think he destroyed a stuffed animal, and it was the stuffing of the inside of the animal

I had a little Boston Terrier years ago who loved to chase Frisbees. Except once he got it he'd play 'keep away' and chew on it. He suddenly stopped eating and seemed quite ill. An x-ray showed something blocking his intestines. I okayed him to have surgery and the doctor showed me what he retrieved out of my dog's stomach. It was a piece of the rim of a Frisbee. :( My dog recovered quite nicely and returned to a normal life in short order. I suspect ole Tyson will work again. Tyson could very well have had "stuffing" in him. I don't give my dogs toys they can destroy. If I want them to chew something to smithereens, I give them rawhide, pig ears, etc. If you want to play with your dog with stuffed toys, take them away when you are done playing.
Update..... Tyson is getting stronger everyday, he still has some recovery to do, but making progress every day

Thanks for the prayers and support

Good to hear Ger.

Thanks guys, very much appreciated
I'm glad to hear he's on the mend. I pray for a full recovery for him.

Does he get upset when you leave for work without him? I hope he's back at work after he heals up.
Tyson is doing real good, he gets the staples out on Friday, and hopefully will be released to go back to work
