On a new rifle, I like to swab the barrel after each shot with frog lube.

I have been looking for any info on prepping my rifle before I shoot it. The manual is a photocopy of the 1963 DoD manual and the pictures are left to be desired.
Only found a couple of YouTube videos that contradict themselves. Anyone have any info on what I should do before I go shooting?
