Thanks for running this great site. Lots of good information and great people. I have a Springfield TRP that I have owned for about a month. I came to Springfield 1911s through my neighbor, a young US Marine Corps Captain. I have know him for over 20 years. As he was leaving the Corps for other public service, my wife and I wanted to thank him for his service and we bought him a gift certificate at our LGS and he used it to get a Springfield MC Operator. When he received his pistol he showed it to me, how it worked, etc. We went to our local indoor range and fired the weapon. It is a great pistol. At that time I had a Glock 21 given to me as a gift about 5 years ago. I noticed I was shooting much better with his 1911 than I was with my Glock. (No Glock bashing here, I own 3 Glocks and they are terrific.) With the exposure to my neighbor's 1911, I had to have one. I liked the TRP and bought it. I'm really enjoying the weapon and I haven't lost the guide rod spring cap yet either. (Okay I did have to fish it out from behind the washing machine, but only once.)
Hey dale, welcome to the site, and thank you so much for being a supporter! My wife has a ton of family in the San Diego area. Glad you're here...
Beach Black's Beach is still clothing optional. It's at Torrey Pines State Park, at the base of the cliff. Bird Rock is further south of Blacks Beach.
Wow Dale, where do I sign up to get a neighbor like you?! Wait 'til the plunger tube spring flies out... Hunting with a microscope is a real chore!
Responding to Pokute's question, I'm fortunate to have great young man like my neighbor as a part of my life. He wants to become an FBI Agent. How can you not admire that kind of dedication to our security and to serve the nation? It may be corny but he makes me proud to be an American.
Nono, I didn't mean that... I already have a neighbor who's a DOJ prosecutor. I know that when I have a ND, she'll protect the neighborhood and send me to Pelican Bay... What I meant was, how do I get a neighbor like *YOU* to give me a gift certificate for a gun?!
Why, yes! Yes I am. I'm told I have a firm command of the obvious, in fact I specialize in it... (Green font off)
