G'day all I am from Australia and today will be looking at a Ronin in 9 mm unfortunately not 45 , regulations I can't have a 45 quite a while I've been hearing rumours that the springfield-armory has some feeding issues in 9 mm just wondering if anybody found that to be true and if so how they fixed it cheers.

Speerchucker ........... just checking to see what comes up
Not sure what happened with the * my apologies!
ours are very different.
Yes I wanted another 1911 in 45ACP like I used to have but unfortunately these days that takes 12 months with the ridiculous laws and paperwork
I've been waiting for a 5" Ronin in .45 to become available at my LGS for a couple months now. Not sure what the hold up is.

Well I have been using my new ronin for 2 weeks now .
At 1st it gave me a lot of failure to go into battery with the 9# spring but I went to the range prepared and took a 12.5# recoil spring as well but it was still happening so had a closer look and my assumption was the bushing and the barrel swell were to tight .
So I wiped the oil off of it and ran it dry for a couple of mags and re oiled it and was only getting this problem every second mag .
So now after 600 rounds and 3 range trips I am happy to say the last 300 rounds have been flawless .
And So far with little load development this 2 groups at 25 yards one handed getting POI where I want it 1st group was left and a bit high and around 4 inches

And after a couple of adjustments I had a nice 6 o'clock
POI at around 2 1/2" for steel plates in the next range and had a ball

Anyway I'm as happy as a pig in chit .

Cheers

There will be more early next week:cool:
Shot with one hand, why not two. Shooting one hand takes to long for each shot.

Well you better tell that to the olimpic committee. 😁
I used shoot UIT now known as ISSF so old habits die hard .
When we moved into the range with steel plates I can well assure you it was not slow or inaccurate but I must say I was using two hands then .

UIT or TSSF is NOT usually shot with 9mm. Shot with .22 or .17. The difference in pistols is massive you know that. I never considered ISSF as pistol shooting. But that's me.

Back when I left the sport that was the year 2000 just about every competitor in the state was using 38 Calibre or 32 s&w long calibre for the centerfire match with a lot of them using Walther gsp & such funny thing is I used to use an old half worn-out model 14 Smith and Wesson and I was two grades ahead of most of them.
that day was just practise and I happen to have a 9mm they also shoot the centerfire match with a 22 it's known as sport pistol.
and I have to disagree with you there you don't consider that pistol shooting because when I got out of issf and headed towards ipsc service match and steel it was a walk in the park for me years ago when we tried to have a couple of ipsc shooters shoot Precision it was a nightmare the amount of bad habits they developed was a suprise they could not even shoot a c grade score let alone b or a .
in ipsc they weren't too bad after several weekends of travelling to our club and shooting precision three of them went back and promptly broke grade one twice got to start with the foundations and go from there .
Anyway I'm now back in a sport that I should never have left as I thoroughly enjoy it the main disappointment is the club I'm in and was in has gone from issf and service match to virtually only shooting cowboy action now that there is embarrassing but I suppose the more licences and competitors regardless of discipline the better...

Finally got to the range today and ran 60+ rounds through the new Ronin. Not one issue of any kind. Performed a lot better than my shooting, which I need to work on. No failures of any kind, out of the box. Happy with my purchase! Flawless performance.

Great to hear, yet still so many complaints by many. Also, 60+ rounds will never suffice. Try 6,000.

Dude, It was a first outing with other handguns in the mix, with more to follow. I reported on what I experienced. If you wait until you've got 6000 rounds through a handgun to form an opinion, well, I'm not sure about your opinion.

I form opinions on a pistol i am using, or testing and by the end of 1 mag, approx 15 rounds i know a great deal and would be happy to report that at the end of the day.
Using the pistol as to accuracy and muzzle flip and how it sits in the hand is i can state. Loading and general feel. Safety easy of operation and why no safety on both sides.
Grips would be another issue for hot days. Also id recoil spring and hammer spring to high. The iron sights and the lack of adjustment. Reliability and making a statement thereof
i would mention after a Full day of shooting some 500 rounds, with reservation and assuming it had been run in prior my use. As for my opinion, its a free country and i say what i believe, when i chose.
