I got the 5” Ronin about a year ago and have put over 3,000 rounds through it. It works great and is one of the most accurate easy to shoot guns I’ve had. I did have some gunsmith work done on it to debur some sharp edges and upgrade the trigger. But with that, it’s just about a perfect gun for me. I don’t recall any significant functional issues, though I did experiment with different powder charges. Mid-range loads all work fine.

Thanks for the reply Tom that is good news I did do more research and have not found much more other than the rumours about the feeding issues going back over it it was mostly Colt and other manufacturers of the 1911 platform I can't wait to get my hands on it and start putting some loads through unfortunately in my country buying a pistol is nearly as bad as buying a suppressor in your country .

Cheers

Hope all goes smoothly for you Speerchucker. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and impressions once you receive and discharge your Ronin. I do have the commander size Ronin in .45 and it has performed flawlessly to date.

Yes many years ago I had a Springfield armoury and for the life of me I cannot remember the model ID say it was a milspec because it never had a beaver tail or a skeletonized hammer that was in 45 ACP it was Flawless with the thousands of rounds I put through it only ammo I had a problem with was a projectile we decided to try Lee made the mould and they were like tap washers only 155 grains from memory but gee could you send them out quick and on a paper Target they would punch a hole in a target like a cookie cutter yes it was a semi wadcutter type design but it's got me beat how they flew so straight and accurate as there was very little in the way of Bearing surface in the barrel

That's great news because I am currently awaiting one to become available at my LGS just like you describe. It looks very good to me.

After getting home, I reviewed my notes. When I first got it, my 9mm 5" Ronin had some issues with the trigger occasionally sticking and a sluggish slide that may have caused some feeding problems. I had an expert gunsmith work on the action, which smoothed it out beautifully. I also replaced the stock 14-lb recoil spring with 15-lbs one from Wolff Springs, which improved the slide's cycling and feeding. Wolff provides a matching firing pin spring that must be installed in the correct orientation. There is a front and back end to the firing pin spring. I was patient with the process and after getting the gunsmith to refine everything, it works beautifully. It's been working great as my primary IDPA gun since last summer.

I had previously bought a Range Officer in 45 ACP, and interestingly, I picked it up on March 29, 2019, the 108th anniversary of the US Army officially adopting the M-1911. Although I was previously almost exclusively an XDM or XD shooter, since getting the 1911s, that's about all I've been shooting for the past 4 years, either the Range Officer in 45 ACP or Ronin in 9mm.

Yep, I get it. I'm a 1911 guy all the way. I got this one in 1988 from a co-worker. Was accepted by the US Armorer in 1941. Still shoots great!

I’ve had my Ronin 9mm for several years now. It has over 5000 rds through the barrel. It is very accurate and no major issues. The finish on the slide shows wear, but it is my EDC. I shoot it more than my other 1911’s and I’m on the range 3 to 4 days a week.

3 to 4 days per week on the range? Wow. That's a budget line item just for ammo!
I'm looking forward to my Ronin. Hopefully, very soon.

Hello ****. Recently bought a SA Emp ronin in 9 mm. Not sure if that’s the same as what you’re talking about. Haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet. Probably won’t shoot until mid April.
