I have the RO compact elite in 9mm with 4 inch barrel. Absolutely love this firearm. It's slides easy, shoots fantastic and looks good. But i took it to a gunsmith because i want to have the mag release button switched over to the other side as i am a lefty. Is this going to be hard for him to find parts for? Also, is there an alternative to the existing grips? i like them but the left side has a thumb spot and since i'm a lefty i'd prefer not to have that. does anyone else make grips for it in the same thickness and feel that aren't to expensive?

The RO Compact uses standard 1911 parts… mostly. It has an Officer size grip frame. The Mag release should be standard 1911. I like EGW parts. They ship the same day in most cases.

Been daily carrying the same pistol for 4 years now.
For grips, I went with thin grips and found a pair that I liked on ebay.
It required changing the bushings to thins, but extremely easy.
Used Challis bushings, as well as the tool for installation.
I've left the mag release alone.
Had replaced the rear sight with a 10-8, but recently had it milled to accept an RMRcc.
Best carry gun I have ever owned.
