I recently acquired my XD(M) .45 as customer payment on an outstanding invoice balance. Not much of a polymer pistol person, I had been thinking of eventually selling it to recoup the money that was owed. Well, I was able to sneak away on my lunch break this past Thursday to an indoor range near work with the XD(M) and 50 rounds of my hand loads. Since I didn't have much time, I set up two targets at the 10 yard line just to get an idea of sight picture, feel for the pistol, and do a functionality check. I think I'll keep it.
The first 20 rounds (rapid), the pistol functioned flawlessly and ate my hand loads with no problems. This is about as well as I do with my 1911s rapid fire.
