So, this fellow found and M1A in a pawn shop.
    Took it to the range.
    Surprise.
    Converted to .243.
Sold to myself after some conversations.
Anyone have the same caliber and what hints have you for shooting?
    Thanks, Paul
    Houston, Texas

Springfield office sent me an e-mail that it had left them as a .308.
    Heavy, 12.4 lbs.

    caliber .243 M1A

    Internet sale.
    Unmarked as to caliber.
12.8 pounds on postal scale at friend's shop, with no ammo.
story is: found in Alabama-or Mississippi-[?]- pawn shop.
Springfield phone conversation: "...left as .308...."
    Looks good!

I would shoot it and compare its accuracy & reliability.

It is a good caliber for Texas deer especially if you reload.

Other than that I'm in the dark.

Scout squad/springfield scope mount. Anyone else have issue with the lugs not staying tight. Feel like if I tighent anymore this wil start to strip. But just wont stay tight
