I am looking into purchasing a 9mm for cost of ammo only, and I am considering the xd line. I never owned a polymer pistol , so any thoughts from the experts. I plan on mostly range gun and is the xdm really worth the money. I know the worm can is now open!!
Well, I suppose if you refuse to reload you are limited to a shooting-rats-in-the-basement type round, so I won't say anything about what a useless caliber 9mm is. That said, based on very recent shooting of a number of 9's (I let a bunch of 9-ers shoot my big bores at the range, and had to shoot a mag full of their little rat poops just to be nice), the real standout gun was.... Holding your breath? ... The CZ 75. I shot Glocks, Springers, Berettas, and Sigs, and the CZ wins by a mile. Better trigger, better pointing, and phenomenal recovery. And it's steel. http://cz-usa.com/product/cz-75-compact-9mm-black-10-rd-mags/ Okay, I said I wouldn't diss the 9, but you know, it barely swings the plates... You can hardly tell you're hitting anything. Gotta go pick up my concealed carry jacket. Had to have the shoulders and chest let out a few inches. Got to get the crotch of my pants reinforced too, before I have an accident.
Sigh... They'll let anyone into the Springfield forum... (Stares balefully at Pokute) All my pistols are XDm. I tried the XD Compact for quite a while and was ready to buy it. Then I rented an XDm and bought one that day. Trigger is much better. You can strip it down without dry firing. Lots of benefits, but for me it just fit better in my hand. If it's mostly for a range gun, try the 5.25" barrel, Competition Series.
Wanna make sumpin of it? Don't like my ink or sumpin? No, the guy in the picture is from the latest crop of LAPD recruits.
