Jerry Miculek's 1000 Yard Shot

    Some of you may have seen this:

    He set up the shot by standing on a marked spot, and used an edge of the barrel to align with something on the ground. He did not aim up in the sky, or at the target, but at something small on the ground 200 yards out.

    That's not to say it wasn't a superhuman feat, but it wasn't exactly the feat that most people think it was. In a way, it could be compared to the work of a very good magician. There are magicians who can deal any card they want, even (apparently) from a shoe... It requires vast amounts of practice (a friend of mine can do it - he often practices 10 hours straight), but they are not doing exactly what they appear to be doing.

    I always wear a short sleeve t-shirt to avoid suspicion.

    A 9mm revolver? I'm going to try that shot with my PPK!

    I think maybe the whole thing was a ploy to get rid of any revolvers in 9mm that S&W was silly enough to have made.
