Hi all. I am new to the 1911 but not to firearms at all, I have many. My carry friend is a Springfield XD40SC and the other is a 40 cal. S&W Shorty forty from the custom shop. I have purchased a new SS mil-spec and shoot a very tight group with it. I will most likely get a trigger job and that will be all.

Welcome! Yep, the Mil-Spec is a fine shooter, even more so after a trigger job. I only carry on camping trips, and then it's a 45LC - Because it makes a good first impression.
