Hi SA forums!
Thanks for the add.

I needed a 1911 for the collection and picked one up this weekend, first SA and first 1912. A local man was selling it at the shop through ppt.

I’m not really sure what model I bought, it just says “1911-A1”.

Does anyone know if this is the same as the milspec?, or know anything else about this pistol? Thanks in advance! Super happy to have finally gotten a 1911.

My best,

jesse.

Welcome from Northern Illinois.
I'm no expert,I wanted a Mil-Spec, but with my aging eyes I wanted better sights so I bought a Range Officer Operator.
They are very similar and are great shooters.
Yours in my opinion looks like a Mil-Spec.
Good Luck with your new toy...

Welcome to the forum Jglick. It looks like a mil-spec. On some models they put 1911-A1 on the slide and on others I've seen Milspec. I would suggest you get in touch with Springfield, give them the serial number and they'll give you the info on the weapon.
Welcome to the forum by the way. You may want to go to the new member section and tell us a little about yourself.
