I've been shooting handguns most of my life, mostly revolvers and mostly 357 Mag. I've had a few auto loaders over the years, but always rely on the wheel guns. I have always wanted a 1911 45ACP as I believe the round is optimum for self defense and I like the 1911. I now have a Springfield Armory Champion 45 ACP that has some major problems. I think the hammer/sear have been filed on and I know the springs have been cut, to the point that the gun is neither reliable or safe. Through this forum, I hope to figure out exactly what this pistol is, what parts fit it and how to repair it. Thanks Red If I could kick the person in the tail that causes me the most problems I could not sit down for a week. Welcome to the forum. I believe that most of the damage comes from people trying to be there own gunsmith.
