Hellion sight adjustment wheels extremely tight, unable to turn by hand

I have a brand-new Hellion. I haven't done any firing as of yet, only field stripped, cleaned and oiled. I attempted to turn the sight adjustment wheels and was unable to by hand. The thought of getting a cloth and a wrench croosed my mind...for a second but decided I better not. It appeared that there was some "push in" capability, which didn't offer any result. The manual and a video just show "simple" hand turning for adjustment.

I come looking for advice, wondering if I'm missing something.
