Took my SA 35 and my CZ PCR to the range today to compare. The SA 35 is so much more comfortable than the CZ that after 45 rounds each I put the CZ away. It is a great carry but the range is about enjoyment. My SA does shoot a couple of inches low at 7 to 10 yards. I corrected by moving the front sight out of the cradle of the rear sight but that is only a temporary solution. at somewhere around 500 rounds now I really like the SA more than my BHPs. It has a nice trigger, easy to field strip, seems very consistent and so far, no memorable failures. I bought the BHS complete solution kit for it but so far have only replaced the too long recoil spring. I think I will slim down the grips and correct the sight failure. Has anyone who experienced the sights too low failure tried the Dawson fiber optic front sight and did it correct the issue?

What you need is a taller front sight. If the Dawson front sight is about 25 thousands taller, there is a good chance it will correct the problem of shooting low. Also a switch in ammo may correct the problem. Try upgrading to a heavier bullet and see if that corrects the low shooting.

I'm surprised that the SA-35 is so much easier to shoot than the PCR. I love shooting my PCR, even as compared to my 1911's. But then again, I've never shot an SA-35 or even a Hi Power so I'm not qualified to evaluate between the two. Glad you're enjoying it. The sight fix shouldn't be a problem.

Today's range day with my Grandson!!
Could not stand my old carry, from magazine eject on firing to no primer strike I can't deal with it any longer. Yes, I will send it back to the manufacture for a longer firing pin but, trust it again for defense, NO! Bought a S&W CSX-E and like all my S&Ws it is magnificent and dependable weapon. Took it to the range today and found it consistent and accurate. Alternated with my SA35 and I found I am more accurate with the SA because it is calmer (easier to shoot). I guess I will call it a "Gentlemans Pistol". I own a Lightning .45 Long Colt and compared, they have the same feeling of "I am not angry, just deadly." My Grandson was in complete agreement even though he was shooting my Operator in .45 ACP. He would rather have been shooting 10mm, but he must pay for that privilege. I surely do enjoy my range time and thank Franktown Firearms for their commitment to the sport.

I wouldn't consider revealing what weapon you're having issues with as brand bashing. Every brand has that problem child out there. If someone is offended it's on them, not you. You're just reporting actual problems with a particular handgun. I believe sharing our experiences and findings is what forums are all about and thus their strength.

The wrong sight from the factory issue is not uncommon. Many years ago I bought a new XD in 9mm and it shot high. I did not shoot it for target, mostly used it for training and I just used Kentucky windage (or elevation in this case). A few years later I had a great piece of luck and won a door prize at a LE convention, a set of night sights for a pistol of choice. Put the night sights on and the elevation issue went away. Still have that XD.

I completely forgot the one modification I made to the SA35, and I am sure it made a difference. After the first range test I installed the BHSS 18lb variable re-coil spring. Since it was meant to manage felt recoil, I am sure it is a contribution to the comfort I feel in the pistol's performance.
