I just recently purchased a 9MM XD Mod. 2 and I found Speer Lawman 9MM 147 GR TMJ Flat Nose ammo for a good price (just over $0.25 per round). Are there any safety concerns or any other issues in using the above mentioned ammo in the Mod. 2? I have read some posts as the the pro and cons of using the the 147 Gr for self defense, but I am asking only about using the 147 GR for target practice and any issues. Thank you for your response.

    CEW,

First, welcome to the forum. Next, I am not aware of any issues using the Speer 147gr in the XD platform. I'm sure the philosophical debates will rage over T/FMJ flat/round-nose rounds for self defense, personally, I think any round hits a body in the right place, it WILL have an impact. For paper-punching, you should be good.

Let us know what you think of the pistol and the Speer's
