I've had a 1911 Ronin 5" in .45 for a couple of years and love it. I recently picked up a 1911 Ronin 4.25" in 9mm ( just to add a 9 to the stable). Took them both to the range this week and I have nothing negative to report about either. Shot flawlessly, on point, and were 1911 right. It was kind of interesting noting the recoil difference between the 5" .45 vs the 4.25" 9mm. I know this is kind of 'duh', (I'm a .45 guy) but the 9 has significantly less recoil than the .45, even though that's a heavier, longer gun. I have avoided 9mm until now, but I think there's a place in my collection.

I have always loved 1911’s and have 2 of them. Within the last year I added a XDS Mod 2,OSP 45 ACP and an Echelon 4.5F 9mm. They are both great pistols and fun to shoot. The XDS is stout but very manageable and accurate. Shooting off a support it will hold a 4” group at 25 yards and I am no expert marksman. I have my sights set on a Ronin next.

I bought my Ronin used. It came with a set of aftermarket grips in some of two tone gray laminate with some off pattern engraved. I did not like them, too gaudy, so stuck a set of Springfield walnut grips on but then I was into three colors, black. stainless and walnut, so orderd a set of checkered diamond grips in ebony from Hogue. They came in a few minutes ago and I quickly installed them and the gun looks great . Stainless screws accent the diamonds in the grips.
