Hello everyone, had a never-before-seen issue with a brand new (out of the box) Saint Victor in 5.56 that I purchased yesterday. This is my first firearm of any kind from Springfield.

I was shooting PMC 223's. On the very first mag, I got 2 rounds off with no problem and then the issue began occurring. From that point, the first round (after inserting mag) would fire properly and every subsequent round would only fire after clicking the trigger back. So every shoot required two trigger pulls. One to click the trigger, and then one where it would fire and eject properly.

Gun was as clean as it will ever be.

Any idea what I can do to troubleshoot?

Welcome to the forum WhatsHaddanin. I'm not sure what you mean by "clicking the trigger". Are you firing the first shot then going back to the reset position, hearing a click, then pulling the trigger and nothing is happening?

I have the Springfield Saint victory ar pistol 7.5 inch. Same thing I use .223 rounds and the first round fires the second round feed in the chamber and I press the trigger then click will not fire it stuck so have to bang the stock holding upright. So I used .556 ammo and fires effortlessly. Thought you were suppose to be able to shoot .223? It will not has done this from day 1
