I sent my hellcat back to the factory, after less than
an four weeks of off duty wear the cerakote had holster wear, I bought a leather holster especially made for the hellcat then drenched it in silicone I then took a springfield XD-45 pushed it in the holster and twisted it back and forward,I then left it in a plastic bag with the XD-45 in it for a couple of days. I thought the cerakote was suppose to hold up better than regular bluing, Springfield Armory did agree to cerakote the slide again at no cost. I am having a custom holster maker make a holster for my hellcat. It seems as though this coating is not very durable, what is everyone else opinion?
