I started shooting on my own at age 15. Over 45 years ago. I have owned many guns both long, shot and hand but until about 4 years ago I never owned a 1911 of any kind. I purchased a RIA full sized in 9mm to test the waters. I was quite satisfied. Really good smooth trigger with about a 4lb pull. Then I made a mistake. I let the wife shoot it. I no longer owned a 1911 but I could possibly shoot hers. In her defense she did fairly quickly replace it with a Ruger SR1911 cmd in .45ACP and once again I was satisfied........Almost. I still wanted a full sized 1911 in 9mm. FF a couple of years and I started seriously searching for something I could afford. I finally settled on a SA RO Elite Target in 9mm. I am really satisfied with this purchase. Trigger was smooth but slightly heavy to me at almost 5lbs. Dropped in a Cylinder & Slide reduced weight sear spring and it settled at 3.5lbs. I will eventually knock off some of that for my personal pleasure. After about 1000 rounds through it in about 2 weeks I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Very accurate and little recoil. The wife keeps looking at it but I keep me between it and her mostly. She has shot it but so far she still likes her RIA. Boy am I glad!
