Default Optic options for the Saint

In case anyone cares - with these old eyes, was not a big fan of the stock iron sights. But didn't want to remove them so updated to Vortex optics and their magnifier and kept the factory sights. First picture is my original configuration. The magnifier is mounted to swivel right, which allows for use of just the red dot and/or iron sights if the battery is dead. But eye relief with the magnifier was not ideal so I switched things up. Was able to move the factory sight forward and the magnifier back. Second picture shows this configuration. Third shows that the lens covers can now be opened and closed without swiveling the magnifier, as long as the factory sight is not upright. And last picture (hard to tell) is with the magnifier swiveled out of place and the iron sights upright. Lens cover is on the way for the front end of the magnifier. Today was able to zero in the red dot at 25 yds. (indoor range), then adjust the factory sights so I am at absolute co-witness, and finally center the red dot in the magnifier. Next step is to set up at 50 and 100 yards outdoors and make final adjustments if needed. So far this thing has been flawless. Would be curious to see what other options are being used for optics.

Good pics.
I like your setup.
Don't have a Saint but I'm a fan of the Trijicon ACOG scopes.
Now you do have to have a fat wallet though.

Thanks. My first AR. Unfortunately the wallet is definitely not fat, never has been. Just trying to compromise somewhat with the close range red dot and ability to get out 100 to 200 yards with the magnifier. Now, just need more time to play. 😎

Just had the Leupold AR Mod 1 1.5- 4X with fire dot reticle and the Leupold Mark 2 intergrated mount delivered yesterday. Hope to get it put on and sighted in this weekend.
FYI I found the best deal on the scope on Walmart dot com. Ended up getting the scope for $372 with free shipping. Then CTD had the mount on sale for 78.
Will let you know how the sight in goes and will review the scope

I second the wallmart suggestion , wallmart.com has a ton of affordable options . I picked up a Burris illum. 3x scope ( self mounts ) for 220$ can go wrong for the price and quality
