Default Gen 5 Glock!

Just Pre-Ordered a Gen 5 Glock from GT Distributors in Jacksonville, Florida. Went in there to buy a Blue Label G17 and one of the sales associate advised me to pre-order the Gen 5. I will let you guys know when I get it! I was told it would arrive early September at the latest. ImageUploadedBySpringfield Forum1502315727.999076.jpg

I'm curious to find out how well the Gen 5 shoots.

Presumably, Gen 5s will still be Glocks; so they will shoot accurately and flawlessly.

My question is why make a Gen 5? The Gen 4 is still pretty new; our local PD just changed to Gen 4 a few months ago. Will the Gen 5 be a major upgrade, rather than the barely significant changes we saw with Gen 2, Gen 3, and Gen 4?

Not sure RevV... from what I've been reading, it's suppose to be exactly the same as the modular handguns that were tested by the FBI. The guys at GT Distributors couldn't say exactly because they didn't know for sure. They didn't want to tell me something and it be completely different. They said all they know for sure is that it came with orange Ameriglo night sights.

Thanks TxRam for the info!

Oddly enough, the Gen 5 Glock was one of many topics of conversation at my church's men's breakfast today.

My only Glock is a Gen 2 Model 22 (.40 S&W). I am the original owner, and have shot it a lot in the 20 or so years I've owned it.

Anyone who says that Glock does not make a great gun is an idiot. However, I much prefer the Springfield XD line over the Glock line. Between those 2 great products, I think most objective people would agree that it comes down to personal preference.

If the Gen 5 turns out to be something radically new and improved, I'll probably trade in my Gen 2 on a Gen 5.

Although I own 2 Glocks they are far from my favorites and I've had them for a while, one is a Gen 2 -10mm that I carried in Mogadishu. Both are drawer queens.
But different strokes for different folks, if you like them it's your personal choice and that's fine.

Maybe the GEN 5 has something I'd like.
